Bueno, aquí estamos por fin con un nivel de atención mundial al menos algo importante. Obviamente, la amenaza del cambio climático y la pérdida de la biodiversidad, el agua limpia y la falta de suministros de alimentos, hasta ahora, no fueron situaciones lo suficientemente aterradoras como para forzar cualquier cambio de pensamiento a escala global, algo más tuvo que suceder para llevarnos a todos a la misma página y parece estar trabajando bien !
Algunos de ustedes recordarán la famosa película 'Thrive' que fue lanzada a fines de 2011 por Foster Gamble y su esposa Kimberley, un documental poco convencional dónde estamos con respecto a las posibilidades de supervivencia humana dentro de un ecosistema planetario en quiebra, impulsado por codicia humana y manejo descuidado de nuestros recursos naturales vitales. La película comienza correctamente con la pregunta "¿Qué demonios tomará, antes de que podamos ver que nos dirigimos en la dirección equivocada?" Creo que a estas alturas tenemos la respuesta a esta pregunta muy importante y debemos enfrentar una amenaza global masiva para la humanidad y evitar continuar con nuestras elecciones de estilo de vida descuidadas que nos han llevado a este punto crucial en la historia humana.
Por supuesto, el Capitán Chris y la compañía aquí en Casita Verde 1 están más que preparados para el cierre, con comidas secas que nos duran meses y más cosas en el jardín (1500 plantas de Aloe Vera, 50 litros de jarabe de algarrobo, 50 kg de harina integral, 10 kg de harina de algarroba, 120 kg de almendras y todo lo demás, 25 limoneros con limones y 80 litros de jugo, además de una gran variedad de verduras congeladas de nuestros jardines de invierno almacenados en grandes congeladores suministrados por 10kw de energía solar, etc). Tenemos 4 bicicletas eléctricas de montaña y un automóvil eléctrico en caso de que no haya más combustible y tengamos que salir a algún lado, además de toda una gama de herramientas Makita con baterías recargables.
Además de todo el palabrerío sobre el Coronavirus, las cosas aquí han estado sucediendo. arriba y arriba, y solo tenemos un equipo muy pequeño de jugadores muy dedicados y altamente educados de Inglaterra, Italia, Colombia y Argentina (¡soy el único que habla inglés en estos días!).
En Casita Verde 2, arriba en las montañas de Granada, el Capitán Cubanito y su encantadora novia Audrey, de Francia, están ocupados agregando más infraestructuras al nuevo eco-centro. Audrey, que es una diseñadora web profesional, también está renovando nuestro sitio web de casitaverde.com, para incluir todas las actividades que se realizan en Granada, además de mantener la historia de Ibiza como una referencia útil para la expansión continua de la filosofía de Casita Verde donde sea que estemos para encontrar líderes adecuados y tierras disponibles para construir más centros que compartan nuestros propios valores.
Aunque tenemos muchos proyectos de Ibiza Fènix muy emocionantes e interesantes en la caldera en este momento, todo está más o menos paralizado hasta que el miedo al virus se desvanezca (si eso realmente sucede). Nuestro nuevo sitio web www.thefenixcollective.com, creado por Sarah Luiz, experta en marketing y con experiencia de haber trabajado para algunos de los principales jugadores comerciales de Londres, promete mover una serie de modelos de negocios emocionantes y que cambian el juego, tan pronto como se nos permita continuar con nuestro último plan de acción dentro el movimiento Corazón Verde Ibiza. Afortunadamente, cuando las cosas comiencen a calmarse después del susto del Coronavirus, podremos reanudar nuestro plan bastante ambicioso para ayudar a convertir a Ibiza en una atracción turística mucho más responsable de lo que hemos soñado y también mostrar el 'poderoso futuro del negocio verde', en comparación con el modelo de "negocio como siempre", que está fallando en todos los aspectos para satisfacer nuestra idea de desarrollo sostenible. Sin embargo, como no tenemos ninguna garantía real de que habrá una 'Industria del Turismo' adinerada aquí en Ibiza después de la actual catástrofe económica, solo podemos suponer que será necesario repensar por completo nuestras políticas turísticas actuales y la idea del turismo eco-responsable finalmente verá su debut, como una alternativa al modelo autodestructivo que debería reemplazar.
Mientras tanto, nos gustaría desear a todos nuestros seguidores un comienzo saludable y positivo para el nuevo paradigma de la existencia humana en nuestro todavía hermoso planeta Tierra y también esperamos que, como resultado de tener que corregir nuestro curso y velocidad de acuerdo con nuestra nueva situación, ¡de alguna manera lograremos 'prosperar' en lugar de simplemente 'sobrevivir' el resto del siglo XXI!
Aquí me gustaría incluir un mensaje que escribí en 2001, como una especie de guía de lo que podríamos lograr si queremos continuar nuestra presencia planetaria en el futuro:
Un mensaje de Corazón Verde
Ya tenemos las herramientas y la información necesaria para restaurar completamente
este hermoso paraíso que nos fue dado para amar y respetar. Pero todos debemos trabajar juntos como hermanos y hermanas, primero amándonos a nosotros mismos
y luego amándonos y compartiendo la misma
responsabilidad de la creación.
Se acerca el momento en que debemos decidir qué camino tomar en el futuro.
O comenzamos ahora mismo a reconectarnos con nuestra madre Tierra, a vivir en
paz y armonía
entre nosotros y con la naturaleza, o podemos continuar separándonos aún más,
con el resultado casi seguro de destruirnos nosotros y
nuestro planeta.
Nunca en la historia de la raza humana, tuvimos tal elección, o incluso la oportunidad
de elegir. Es hora de unir nuestros corazones verdes y desarrollar nuestro vínculo espiritual con el resto del mundo. Es hora de pensar como uno y apreciar que todo es

Well, here we are at last with a worldwide level of attention on at least something important.
Obviously, the threat of climate change and loss of biodiversity, clean water and failing food supplies wasn’t really scary enough to force any change of thinking on a Global scale, something else had to get us all onto the same page and it seems to be working well!
Some of you will remember the famous movie ‘Thrive’ which was released during late 2011 by Foster Gamble and his wife Kimberley, as a kind of summary of where we are with regards to the chances of human survival within a failing planetary ecosystem, driven by human greed and careless management of our vital natural resources. The movie correctly begins with the question ‘What in the world will it take, before we can see we are heading in the wrong direction?’ I guess by now we have the answer to this very important question and must deal with a massive Global threat to humanity and avoid to continue with our careless lifestyle choices which have led us to this pivotal point in human history.
Of course, Captain Chris and company here in Casita Verde 1 are more than prepared for the lock-down, with stores to last us for months and more stuff in the garden (1500 Aloe Vera plants, 50ltrs carob syrup, 50kg wholewheat flour, 10kg of carob flour, 120kg almonds and all the other things to go with it, 25 lemon trees with lemons on them and 80ltrs of juice, plus a whole variety of frozen veggies from our winter gardens stored in big freezers supplied by 10kw of solar power etc. We have 4 electric mountain bikes and an electric car in case there's no more fuel and we need to go out somewhere, plus a whole range of Makita tools with rechargeable batteries. Apart from all the palaver about the Coronavirus, things here have been going up and up, and we have only a very small team of very dedicated and highly educated players from England, Italy, Colombia and Argentina (I'm the only one who speaks English these days!).
Over in Casita Verde 2, up in the mountains of Granada, Captain Cubanito and his lovely girlfriend Audrey from France, are busy adding more infrastructures to the new eco-centre.
Audrey, who is a professional web designer, is also revamping our present casitaverde.com site, in order to include all the activities going on in Granada, plus maintain the Ibiza story as a useful reference for ongoing expansion of the Casita Verde philosophy wherever we find both adequate leaders and available land to build more centres sharing our own values.
Although we have loads of very exciting and interesting Ibiza Fènix projects on the boiler at the moment, everything is more or less paralyzed until the virus scare blows over (if that actually happens). However, as we have such a great team at home, we're cracking on with finishing the beautiful 60-ton nature-pond we just made and adding the final touches to the eco-wagon that Dorus Rijkers constructed and which is an absolutely wonderful place to hang out for meetings, plus demonstrate what a 'Tiny house' can look like etc. That's the place we would have had my 67th birthday party, but I guess we'll have to do a 'virtual one'
this year for a change. (I like new things anyway!).
Our new website www.thefenixcollective.com, built by Sarah Luiz, a marketing expert with experience working for some of London’s top commercial players, promises to move a number of exciting and game changing business models, as soon as we are allowed to continue with our latest Greenheart Ibiza action plan. Hopefully, when things begin to settle down after the Coronavirus scare, we can resume our rather ambitious plan to help turn Ibiza into a much more Responsible Tourist attraction than we ever dreamed of before and also to show the ‘powerful future of Green Business’, compared to the ‘business as usual’ model which is failing in all respects to satisfy our idea of sustainable development. However, as we have no real guarantee that there will be a wealthy ‘Tourism Industry’ here in Ibiza after the present economic catastrophe, we can only assume that there will be a need for a total re-think of our present tourism policies and that the idea of Eco-responsible tourism’ will finally see its debut, as a replacement to the auto-destructive model it should replace!
Meanwhile, we would like to wish all our followers a healthy and positive beginning to the new paradigm of human existence on our still beautiful planet Earth and also hope that, as a result of having to correct our course and speed according to our new situation, we will somehow manage to ‘Thrive’ instead of merely ‘survive’ the rest of the 21st century! Here I’d like to include a message I wrote back in 2001, as a kind of guide to what we could achieve if we want to continue our planetary presence into the future.

We have by now, the necessary tools and information to completely restore this beautiful paradise which was given to us to love and to respect. But we must all work together
like brothers and sisters, first by loving ourselves and then by loving each other
and sharing the same
responsibility of creation.
The time is drawing near when we must decide which road to take into the future.
Either we begin right now to reconnect ourselves to our mother Earth, to live in
peace and harmony
with each other and with nature, or we can continue to separate ourselves even further,
with the almost certain result of destroying both ourselves and
our planet.
Never before in the history of the human race, did we have such a choice to make, or indeed the opportunity to choose. It's time to join our green hearts and to evolve our spiritual bond with the rest of the world. It's time to think as one and to appreciate that everything is a
part of the same 'all embracing universal spirit'.
