Aquí estamos casi al final de otra década, por lo que tal vez sea el momento adecuado para mirar hacia atrás y ver lo que hemos logrado durante los últimos diez años y tratar de imaginar lo que nos gustaría lograr durante los próximos diez años.
Desde 2010, Casita Verde y el movimiento Greenheart Ibiza hemos modificado nuestra metodología en un esfuerzo por ayudar a salvar nuestro mundo natural de la destrucción humana, al igual que muchas otras organizaciones ambientales y socialmente orientadas que trabajan hoy día en nuestro planeta.
Lo que comenzó como una simple extensión de nuestra Asociación original de Ibiza Ecologic, se ha convertido en un proyecto ambicioso, bastante complejo y mucho más expansivo llamado Ibiza Fènix.
Este árbol de visiones y posibilidades más inclusivo, finalmente ha reemplazado el modelo original. Las técnicas de estilo de vida ecológico que fue el proyecto Casita Verde, fácil de manejar, se ha convertido en algo emocionante y de gran alcance con horizontes en continua expansión.
En este momento, nuestro equipo más pequeño pero extremadamente efectivo involucrado en el centro del programa Ibiza Fènix está centrado en una nueva presentación intensiva de medios de comunicación para la próxima década de acción, diseñada para ser mucho más motivadora, innovadora y regeneradora que cualquier otra cosa que hemos intentado hacer en el pasado.
Entonces, después de haber completado recientemente los cuatro años de cuidadosa preparación y configuración legal requeridos para que la Red de Liderazgo Social de Ibiza Fènix comience su trabajo, muy pronto estaremos listos para luchar contra los gigantes de nuestra sociedad, patrocinadores del consumismo, y ganar el apoyo de una porción mucho mayor de la población local e internacional.
Mientras tanto, en Casita Verde Ibiza, nuestro centro principal y bien establecido 'laboratorio ecológico', los últimos meses ha cambiado su propósito general, incluido el cierre de nuestro famoso evento dominical y las invitaciones para visitantes, además de la reducción drástica en el número de voluntarios residenciales.
Este cambio de estilo se produjo como resultado de mi decisión de cerrar nuestro programa tradicional de voluntariado, que ha estado en marcha desde 1996 y que ha visto pasar a más de 1.300 voluntarios residenciales por Casita Verde, así como a unos 18.000 visitantes de todo el mundo.
En este momento, solo yo y mi amigo italiano Mirko Abbruzzese vivimos permanentemente en el centro, además de una variedad de visitantes semi residentes que pueden quedarse algunos días mientras trabajan en proyectos particulares dentro del programa de desarrollo Ibiza Fènix.
Ahora que el centro se ha completado más o menos y la necesidad de voluntarios permanentes ha caído a un nivel muy básico que es suficiente para mantener la infraestructura y garantizar que el lugar esté bien cuidado, tengo más tiempo libre y recursos financieros para concéntrate en nuestros próximos movimientos.
También he esperado mucho tiempo por una paz y tranquilidad real, para disfrutar de lo que se ha convertido en un verdadero paraíso en la Tierra, rodeado de hermosos jardines naturales y una abundancia de espacios únicos para hacer lo que considero útil y satisfactorio para mi misión de vida
También estamos ocupados eliminando todos los materiales innecesarios del sitio, ya que no construiremos nuevas infraestructuras, y los materiales adicionales que tenemos en stock pueden ser utilizados por otros, como nuestro amigo Cubanito en la recién inaugurada Casita Verde Granada, o Dorus Rijkers y su equipo en su nuevo centro de eco-talleres en Mallorca.
Gracias al diseño del centro y los jardines de Casita Verde Ibiza, el mantenimiento es relativamente fácil de administrar entre dos o tres personas con múltiples habilidades, y mi plan de jubilación está comenzando a funcionar muy bien. Solo necesito mantener todo en buenas condiciones y, aunque eso significa que debo prestar atención a la siembra y cosecha estacional habitual, además de realizar algunos trabajos de reparaciones pequeñas e interesantes que realmente disfruto hacer, no hay razón para llenar el lugar con gente, mientras tenemos espacio para más personal. También tengo una lista cada vez mayor de voluntarios locales que están interesados en ayudarnos si lo necesitemos.
Esto también significa que cuando tenemos reuniones y eventos importantes aquí en la Casita Verde, junto con especialistas que trabajan en proyectos relacionados con el Ibiza Fènix, podemos ofrecerles alojamiento y transporte, lo que nos permitirá ejecutar la operación a un costo económico muy bajo y, por lo tanto, reducir la necesidad de un patrocinio adicional.
Como tendremos un nuevo sitio web para el movimiento combinado Greenheart Ibiza e Ibiza Fènix, lo más probable es que solo hago una publicación trimestral del blog para el sitio web existente de Casita Verde. El nuevo sitio web de Greenheart Ibiza se creará para reemplazar el sitio actual de Ibiza Fènix en www.ibiza-fenix.com y debería estar listo a principios de enero de 2020. Here we are almost at the end of another decade, so maybe it’s the right moment to look back and see what we have achieved during the last ten years and try to imagine what we would like to achieve during the next ten years.
Since 2010, Casita Verde and the Greenheart Ibiza movement have continued to modify our methodology in the effort to help save our natural world from human destruction, as have many other environmental and socially orientated organisations working on our planet today.
What began as a simple extension of our original Ibiza Ecologic Association, has blossomed into a rather complex and far more expansive ambitious project called Ibiza Fènix.
This more inclusive tree of visions and possibilities has finally replaced the original, easy to manage model for ecological lifestyle techniques which was the Casita Verde project, and has evolved into something both wildly exciting and far reaching with continually expanding horizons.
Right now, our smaller but extremely effective team involved in the central hub of the Ibiza Fènix program are busy completely re-branding a new media intensive presentation for the next decade of action, designed to be much more Motivating, Innovating and Regenerating than anything we’ve attempted to do in the past.
So, having recently completed the four years of careful preparation and legal set-up required for the Ibiza Fènix Social Leadership Network to begin its work, we will very soon be ready to do battle with the giants of our consumer sponsored society and to win the support of a much greater portion of both the local and international population.
Meanwhile, at Casita Verde Ibiza, our main centre and well established ‘eco laboratory’, the last months have seen many changes in our overall purpose, including the closing of our famous Sunday event and visitor invitations, plus the drastic reduction in the number of residential volunteers.
This change of style has come about as a result of my decision to close down our traditional volunteer programme, which has been in motion since 1996 and which has seen more than 1,300 residential volunteers passing through Casita Verde, as well as around 18,000 visitors from all over the world.
At the moment, there is only myself and my Italian friend Mirko Abbruzzese living permanently at the centre, plus a variety of semi-resident visitors who are able to stay some days while working on particular projects within the Ibiza Fènix development program.
Now that the centre has been more or less completed and the need for permanent volunteers has fallen to a very basic level which is just enough to maintain the infrastructure and ensure that the place is well cared for, I have more free time and financial resources to concentrate on our next moves.
I have also been waiting a long time for some real peace and quiet in which to enjoy what has become a true paradise on Earth, surrounded by beautiful natural gardens and an abundance of unique spaces to do whatever I consider to be useful and fulfilling for my life mission.
We are also busy removing all unnecessary materials from the site, since we will no longer be building any new infrastructures, and the extra materials we have in stock can be used up by others, such as our friend Cubanito over in the newly opened Casita Verde Granada, or Dorus Rijkers and his team in their new eco-workshop centre over in Mallorca.
Thanks to the design of the Casita Verde Ibiza centre and gardens, the maintenance is relatively easy to manage between two or three multi-skilled personnel, so my retirement plan is beginning to work very well. All I need to do is to keep everything in nice condition and although that means I must pay attention to the usual seasonal planting and harvesting, plus perform some small and interesting repair jobs that I really enjoy doing, there is no reason to fill the place up with people, even if we do have space for more staff. I also have a growing list of local volunteers who are interested in coming up to lend a hand whenever we need some extra help.
This also means that when we have important meetings and events here in the Casita Verde, together with specialists working on Fènix related projects, we can offer them both accommodation and transport facilities, which will enable us to run the operation at a very low economic cost and therefore reduce the necessity for extra sponsorship.

The new Greenheart Ibiza website will be built to replace the present Ibiza Fènix site on www.ibiza-fenix.com and should be ready around the beginning of January 2020, so please look out on our media channels for the launch date and get ready to join in the action!
