Greenheart News - Spring 2022

In a world full of total chaos, poor government policies and social violence, it’s hard to imagine how we humans will survive the next few months, never mind the rest of the 21st century. However, what’s becoming more clear every day is that unless we rethink our strategy plan as a global community, we may soon have burned so many bridges that we lose our way amidst the escalating confusion and wholesale destruction.

Hopefully, this critical point in time will underline the great necessity to find our tribe, resist the horrors of the planned ‘Globalist Reset’ and come out of the other end of the tunnel far more awake and ready to work together on finding feasible solutions to our growing list of problems.

Of course, I’m not the only one who believes that we can still chose to do much better and in fact I would guess that around a third of the human population on our planet have finally woken up to the idea that unless we do something urgent to ‘Stop the rot’, we’ll all be facing the possibility of annihilation in the next few years.

Obviously, our reliance on limited resources must be replaced by a worldwide effort to greatly reduce our individual and collective environmental footprint, plus understand that only by making more effort to support the living world, can we even dream about having a happy and sustainable future.

So, what are the main problems and what are some easy to imagine solutions to all these complicated issues? Without a doubt, this is one of the biggest challenges of our present global society, but we must all face the facts and we must all take some kind of responsibility in resolving the problems as far as we are individually able to contribute our own unique offer of energy, positive thought and useful actions.

As more educated citizens, we cannot just sit and wait for someone else to get this job done for us, so we need to understand that we are here on this planet to help evolve our species in a peaceful and regenerative way, even if it means dramatically changing our daily habits as well as accepting our role as loving and caring planetarians.

Fortunately, we do have nearly all the solutions already in hand, so we only need to apply our collective talents on a local and global scale, in order to see some positive results during our own lifetime, which in my view would encourage us to make much more effort!

I am well aware that many people think that it’s almost impossible for us humans to agree on anything except making ourselves more comfortable and I personally blame this on our very inappropriate education system, which obviously needs to be radically updated and as quickly as possible.

Meanwhile, as the world population continues its seemingly never ending expansion and we all feel threatened by the idea of having nothing left to support our growing demand for resources, many of the people I know are seeking to get out of the Matrix and set up some kind of self resilient society of friends while we still have time. In fact, the great majority of recent visitors to the Casita Verde eco centre in Ibiza have come here to gather information and be inspired by how we’ve managed to build up such a wonderful showcase of self sufficient lifestyle techniques, without spending millions of Euros in the process.

With this in mind, we are planning to slowly increase our offer of guided visits, some useful workshops about using local plants for both eating and making effective medicines, plus a limited invitation for residential groups after the summer.

Since we’ve already decided to cancel our Facebook account and are seriously thinking about cancelling our Instagram account in the near future, we intend to gradually increase the amount of information we upload onto our main website. For example, in the next couple of months, we hope to add our online Casita Verde recipe guide ‘You are what you eat’, plus a guide to the collection and use of wild edible and medicinal plants that can be found in the gardens around Casita Verde. We also intend to upload many more recent photographs of the centre onto the blog section, so that our followers can see how things are progressing, without having to pass by and visit us.

The eventual plan is to be as independent as possible in every way we can, and that includes getting off social media platforms which are helping to destroy our individual freedom and which are being used to harvest information which is then passed to advertisers. According to Google, we had around 12,000 visits to our Casita Verde website during the month of December last year, so I guess we won’t miss the other media platforms and really feel it’s time to stop feeding the monsters that are helping to destabilise the world we live in. We also believe that by concentrating our energy on improving the quality of information on our own website, we can avoid supporting those entities whose actions are not in alignment with our own ethical values.

Apart from our continued efforts to advance our ‘Ibiza Ecolandia’ project, which is slowly taking shape, (please see https://www.ibizafenix.org/proyectos?lang=en), we’ve also started gathering information to make an on-line ‘Greenheart Guide to Ibiza’ App, suitable for mobile phones, tablets and computers. This will be the second such guide we’ve made so far, as we managed to produce a popular bilingual printed booklet back in 2004. This was actually sponsored by our friends from the Madrid based Foundation for the Future, who kindly paid for the setup and printing after we failed to secure any financial support from the local government. Although, as with the first guide, most of the investigation work and most of the presentation will be performed by volunteers, we have approached various funding sources to pay for the mounting and hosting of the new App, which will most probably be quite costly.

Our ‘Ibiza Limpia’ NGO has recently renewed its membership of the ‘Plastic Free Ibiza' collective, with whom we often participate in clean-up programs and other activities.

In addition, I continue to attend meetings from the ‘Alianza por el agua’ NGO, where I am on the board of directors, and we offer free educational visits to students from senior schools on the island from the beginning of October until the end of May.

Please check this blogspace for any updates on workshop offers and recent photos. Also, if anyone is interested to visit the centre, you can find full details of visitor offers in both the ‘Casita Verde Ibiza’ section, as well as the ‘Education’ section on this website.

Of course, if you have any questions about alternative lifestyle techniques, or want to know how you can be a more eco-conscious citizen, please get in touch by email, sending your request to info@casitaverde.com, or calling our main office on 608838190 (English and Spanish)

With warm greetings from Casita Verde,
