Captain's Blog January 2009

As many of us are aware through various recent internet films and publications, there are some very serious problems facing the traditional political and financial systems of our modern world - problems we can no longer ignore, for they are presently undermining the very foundations of our civilization!

At Greenheart Ibiza, our idea of politics and high finance is not so much to get involved directly, but to have some kind of political influence all the same and try wherever possible to evolve a more suitable local exchange system for both energy and resources. We must use the wealth of international people power present in Ibiza, to bring about those necessary changes which will ensure a better way of life for all citizens, irrespective of their economic or social status. We must make every effort to include ALL of the community in our decision making attempts and to use the basic principles of permaculture (Permanent Culture) in all our future development plans.

Never before have we had so many good marketing tools available to use in our every day lives. Never before have we had the possibility to contact so many other human beings without being famous or having lots of capital to invest in our advertising campaign. We must now seize the moment to use these wonderful free resources for the betterment of human understanding, while we still have time to make a difference. Time is running short, but with a concerted effort we can arrive at least to a better place than if we do nothing more than to stand by and observe, or worse still, to join in with the systematic destruction of our own life support system - planet Earth!

How we propose to achieve such a participation in the global healing programme, is to create both a virtual and physical realistic community, which can interact always with a shared interest, total clarity and with total public transparency. In this way we can develop a new and more sustainable system of energy exchange which does not depend so much on the global economic balance but still maintains a comfortable link to the ever fluctuating international monetary exchange system. Here on the little Mediterranean island of Ibiza, we can be part of an exciting new adventure into the unfolding world of 'Direct Decentralised Democracy', as a way to stabilize our local economy and where as far as possible, we would all be working towards the same goals.

As the Greenheart movement continues to grow more responsible in relation to the awakening world, we are forever playing our part in the positive evolution of the human race. We must all become more informed, more conscious and more responsible individuals, capable of interpreting the larger picture and of reacting to it with both our heart and brain well harmonised.

We could also consider at this point, that we are possibly the last generation of humans to have such a wonderful opportunity to get it right and all we have to do is our best!
